Business Breakfast Apprenticeship Event
An employer breakfast took place on the 16th March 2016 at Barnstaple Hotel for businesses to discover the benefits of taking on an apprentice. The breakfast event included table discussions with four different steering groups, an interview with a panel of apprentices and employers and a question and answer session, all of which we hope inspired many employers to consider taking on an apprentice.
A big thank you to all who attended and to those who helped at the event – Petroc, CSW Group, South West Apprenticeship Company, Job Centre Plus, Education Training and Skills and Brend Hotels. Also a big thank you to Blue Frog Media, Applegate and Activis for being fantastic guests on our panel and to Richard from the National Apprenticeship Service for giving us an excellent insight into apprenticeships.
£1,500 Grants are currently still available for eligible employers, although this is likely to change in 2016. The government is introducing new Standards that will run alongside the existing Frameworks.
Thinking about recruiting; why not consider an apprentice?
University is not the only way
